She was the eldest of 4 children. Came to Sydney, Australia with Rosa and Joseph to meet her husband. On board the ship Ormonde on 12 February 1925.
She moved to Somersby near Gosford with Giovanni to be closer to her son Joe. They had their own farm there and later moved back to Griffith for a couple years. She returned to Somersby where she died. She is buried in Point Clare cemetery next to her son Joe.
Notes for Giovanni (Spouse 1)
Left Genoa Italy on 22 February 1922 for Australia and arrived in Melbourne in June 1922 on board the ship Moncalieri, with his brother Santo. Arrived in Melbourne. Moved to Corrimal NSW where he worked in the coal mines. He was met by his wife and his two children after they arrived on the ship Ormonde from Italy on the 6 February 1925. He suffered from gas poisonning after an accident at the mine and was advised to move to a drier climate for his health.
Arrived in Griffith NSW in July 1926. Established at Farm 1195 Collins Rd. Griffith. A small 7 acres farm undevelloped at the time.

Giovanni was in the Great War (World War 1) fighting for the Italian Army. He enlisted in either 1916 or 1917 and joined the 2nd Granatieri Regiment. Most of the regiment active service in 17-18 was on the 11th and 12th Battles of the Isonzo against the Germans and Austro-Hungarian Armies. At some point he was taken prisonner and escaped for a short while with a friend. It was winter and they suffered from frost bite and eventually they were recaptured. His friend had to have both legs amputated but Giovanni was lucky not to lose any limbs.
Giovanni received two war medals, one for participation and the other was a victory medal which came with a certificate signed by then war minister Benito Mussolini! (see pictured documents)
After the war his political views were different to the faschist government and the country was in turmoil with high unemployement so he decided to migrate to Australia.
In 1948 they moved to Gosford where they bought a farm.
He was naturalized Australian citizen on 10 February 1928
After his wife died in 1953 he returned to live in Griffith with his daughter Rose’s family on Farm 5 in Hanwood where he died. He is buried in the Griffith cemetary.

Giovanni worked as a carpenter for Marianna’s father Paolo Reghelin. This is how he met Marianna.
He later worked at the Schio Woollen Textile Mill Lanerossi before being conscripted into the army. Then Marianna worked at the Mill during the war.
