Notes for Antonia (Antonietta) Sperenza Favero
Arrived in Australia aboard the ship Oronsay in December 1928 with her two sons Antonio and John to be reunited with her husband. Lived at Farm 1246 Harward Road Griffith NSW until she sold it to her son John in 1955 after her husband Angelo had died 12 years earlier. She lived the rest of her life at Farm 5 Hanwood with her daughter Rosa’s family.

Went to America in early 1900’s for work with two older brothers due to lack of work at home. Went to Argentina also to clear jungle. Upon his return he married Antonietta. After the birth of their first son Giovanni he went back to America, went to California and work felling timber and then for the railways. He returned to Italy and then Antonio was born in 1912.
Once more Angelo left but this time he went to Switzerland where he worked as a fettler for the Alpine railways. He returned briefly to Italy before going back to America aboard the ship La Provence, arriving in New York city on 15 November 1913 where he remained for the duration of the First World War 1914-1918. Was on the WW1 Draft on 09/12/1918 at Siskiyou County, California. (source My Heritage)
Arrived in New York, NY, USA first time on 06/05/1907 on board the ship Brasile, Met by his brother in law Angelo Favero.
Arrived in New York, NY, USA on 25 January 1914 on board the ship La Savoie, met by his brother in law Sebastiano Favero.

Angelo returned to Italy in 1922 and then John was born in 1924. While John was still an infant Angelo left again but this time for Australia, on board the ship MV Caprera. He landed in Sydney then went to Queensland in the Cairns region as a cane cutter. He returned to Sydney and then moved to Griffith to find work.
Angelo purchased land on 11 August 1928, it was a one acre farm at corner of Moses and Merrigal street in Griffith. Farm 1220.
He then sent for his wife and children to come over.
They arrived in December 1928 aboard the ship Oronsay.
Angelo sold Farm 1220 and purchased Farm 1246 Harward Road Griffith NSW in partnership with his brother-in-law Sebastiano Favero in early 1930. On 24 August 1934 Sebastiano sold his share to Angelo for 150 pounds. He continued to work and live at this farm until his death in 1943 when he dropped dead from a cerebral haemorrhage.
On 14 February 1933 Angelo and his family became naturalised Australians.
